Dunn Physical Therapy prides itself on a manual therapy approach to your treatment needs. Our skilled physical therapists are trained in soft tissue techniques that can commonly be referred to as "massage therapy" while strategically targeting specific goals for your body's physical therapy needs.
We can also make referrals to specific massage therapy service providers for those seeking an intervention by a LMBT, verses a physical therapist. Services provided by our staff physical therapists are billable to your insurance, while we do not bill insurance for any services provided by a massage therapist.
Robin Innes, BA.s is our licensed in-house massage therapist NCLMBT #9614. Robin received her massage therapy training at the Body Therapy Institute of North Carolina. She is a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and holds an undergraduate degree in exercise science. Prior to practicing massage therapy, she spent 20 years as a fitness trainer and consultant in a wide variety of settings including PT clinics, hospital wellness centers and YMCA programs in Florida.
These techniques alone or combined can provide relief for chronic tired, sore and tightly held muscles. Massage Therapy can assist with the relief of headaches, back pain, muscle spasm and a wide variety of chronic conditions like fibromyalgia, arthritis, TMJ syndrome and anxiety disorders. Massage can also help improve posture, help establish better sleep patterns and speed recovery.
